On this International Women's Day, my wish is to celebrate all women – their stories, their achievements, their journey’s so far and their opportunities in the future.

But I also want to take this opportunity to shine a light on the women that may need a helping hand right now and encourage you to do the same.

Every one of us has been in a situation somewhere along our journey where the generosity of another women has been the difference – a friendly word of encouragement, an introduction to someone who could help us with the next step or watching our kids so we could take that extra class.

I will never forget all of the incredible women that supported and believed in me through the toughest challenges in my life and it has created something inside of me that wants to be that support for other women as well.

If you have made a purchase at Lorna Jane in the last 12 months you’ll know that we are raising money to help Women’s Community Shelters throughout Australia. With all funds generated from the sale of our Love Tote going directly to this incredible organization that cares for women and children that find themselves temporarily in need of food and shelter.

My team and I believe that every woman has the right to feel safe, loved and empowered, and that by supporting organisations like the Women's Community Shelter, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it the most.

On this International Women’s Day, we would like to thank everyone of you that has helped us create awareness and raise funds for women in need and let you know that we will continue to support and help this much needed resource as we move into a period where the need for shelter is on the rise.

This International Women's Day, I encourage you to reflect on the progress we have made together as women, but also the work that still needs to be done. Let us continue to support and uplift each other, and work towards a brighter, more equal future for all women.
