Active Nation Day

Active Nation Day, the 28th of September, is a day dedicated to the power of movement. A day that stops the nation and asks the question “Are we doing enough when it comes to our health and wellbeing?”

Active Living was born from a belief our founder, Lorna Jane Clarkson, has held for over 37 years: that life is fuller, more energised and more purposeful when a woman takes care of herself. Movement is not a task to check off. It is a way of showing up for the life she wants to live.

This belief extends beyond the individual. When she moves, she inspires those around her, friends, family, co-workers, to do the same. Active Living is a community, built one woman at a time, each one showing up for herself and for each other.

Move. Nourish. Believe.

Active Nation Day 2024

On Saturday, the 28th of September, we celebrated our annual Active Nation Day in partnership with parkrun. This year’s event was particularly special as we united not just to get active, but also to raise crucial funds for Women's Community Shelters.

Rain or shine, parkrunners across Australia and New Zealand came together to show their support for this important cause.

We are thrilled to announce that Lorna Jane will be donating $76,714 to Women's Community Shelters!

This generous donation will significantly impact Women’s Community Shelters by helping to provide essential services such as:

Crisis Accommodation: Offering safe and secure temporary housing for women and children fleeing domestic violence or homelessnessSupport
Services: Providing access to counselling, legal advice, and resources that empower women to regain independenceEmergency
Funds: Assisting with immediate needs like food, clothing, and transportation, ensuring that families have the basics while they transition to stable housing
